Student Senate for California Community Colleges (SSCCC)

SSCCC is the largest educational system in the world, representing over 2.6 million students. Student Senate for California Community Colleges is recognized as the representative community college-associated student government organization before the Board of Governors and Chancellor’s Office in accordance with Title 5, Section 50002.   Purpose.  The SSCCC has the following responsibilities:  

 

(a)               Representation

To serve as the voice of the students in matters of statewide concern and before the Board of Governors, Consultation Council and all statewide boards, committees, and ad hoc groups.

 

(b)               Collaboration

Foster relationships with district student boards, local student senates, and other statewide agencies or organizations that have a vested interest in student affairs.     

  

(c)                Accountability

Function as a democratically elected and empowered body remaining accountable to its constituency, expressing the general will of the students and following through with its responsibilities.  

 

(d)               Communication

Provide ongoing and widespread dissemination of information to enhance awareness on statewide issues and maximize input from students.



April Rally against budget cuts in the California State Capital

Thousands of students across California rallied and marched around the state capital against budget cut. University, State University, Community College and High School students stood in unity with signs, sang their songs expressing their concerns about California education budget.


The Economics and Law Association of De Anza (ELAD)

Economics and Law Association is established to enhance and build up the interests of its members on Law and Economics, to promote an open and welcoming environment for members to explore the interrelations of these two aspects, and to strengthen members' knowledge through organizing, supporting, discussions and workshops, and other special events.

APALI’s mission is to educate and develop a pipeline of ethical civic leaders for underrepresented minorities in American society.


California Community College Student Affairs Association (CCCSAA) Leadership Conference

CCCSAA's purpose is to promote and advance public two-year post-secondary education and to bring the members together in an association for mutual benefit; to stimulate effective working relationships in the field; to strengthen professional status by establishing criteria for professional training; to undertake research and study pertinent to the profession and other methods for exchange of ideas and information.
